Dr. Daljit S. Buttar is an interventional spine, headache and pain specialist. He specializes in minimally invasive, fluoroscopic guided, office-based procedures, for treatment of spine pain and headache disorders. These disorders may include pinched nerves in the neck, thoracic spine or back (sciatica); bulging or degenerated discs; inflammation/pain emanating from facet or sacroiliac joints of the spine, uncontrolled migraine or muscle tension headaches, and many others.
Our goal is not only to treat pain, but also to correct the underlying disorder by utilizing minimally invasive image-guided precision needle techniques. There is minimal risk of complications, such as scar tissue, which may result from more traditional open surgery techniques. Dr. Buttar has performed thousands of these procedures, over many years, and with excellent results.
Dr. Buttar is also well-trained to treat sports-related or osteoarthritic joint pain, such as in the knee, hip, elbow, carpal tunnel, etc; as well as myofascial (inflamed muscles) syndrome, utilizing intra-articular injections or trigger point injections. He is also experienced with the use of myobloc injections for dystonia related pain or chronic spasms. He also performs sphenopalatine (SPG) ganglion blocks, trigeminal blocks and botox for chronic migraine.
Dr. Buttar strongly emphasizes wellness within his approach to the management of chronic pain. This focuses on modalities that promote general health with emphasis on spine, wellness and neurologic/psychiatric wellness. This may include pharmacologic approaches, as well as vitamin/nutritional supplementation, exercise program, weight control, stress management and ancillary modalities such as physical therapy, biofeedback, yoga, acupuncture, etc.
