How to Boost Your Microneedling Results with PRP
If you’ve been thinking about microneedling to refresh your skin, you should consider combining this treatment with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. PRP uses the power of your body’s healing processes to take your microneedling results to the next level.
Combining these two treatments leaves your skin smoother and more youthful than possible on its own, making microneedling with PRP one of the most effective facials on the market.
At Raleigh Spine and Pain Center, board-certified provider Daljit S. Buttar, MD, and his care team use the power of microneedling with PRP to provide jaw-dropping facial results for patients in Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Take a moment to find out how we can rejuvenate your face with these two incredible treatments.
What is microneedling?
Microneedling may sound intimidating but don’t fear. This treatment uses minuscule needles that are too small to cause bleeding or pain to create tiny cuts called microchannels on the top layer of your skin.
The tiny cuts don’t bleed or hurt, but they do trigger your body’s natural healing process. This leads to an increase in collagen and elastin production, along with other skin proteins that rebuild the broken skin tissue.
The benefit? Your body reproduces fresh, youthful, and tighter skin, giving your face a fresh look.
What is platelet-rich plasma (PRP)?
PRP therapy also triggers your body’s natural healing process to produce collagen and elastin but with a slightly different approach. PRP harnesses the natural growth factors and healing properties of the platelets in your blood.
Dr. Buttar draws a small amount of your blood during the procedure and puts it in a centrifuge, a device that separates your platelets from the rest of your blood. This creates a platelet-rich plasma solution that Dr. Buttar injects into target areas.
Once the PRP solution is injected, your skin eventually sheds the top layer, while a fresh layer is made stronger by the collagen and elastin fibers triggered by the PRP. This all-natural treatment leaves you glowing and refreshed.
Why combine microneedling and PRP?
While microneedling and PRP produce great results on their own, combining the two increases the power of your body’s natural healing processes and boosts skin turnover. This means you have faster results than if you just did one on its own.
When you combine microneedling and PRP, Dr. Buttar spreads the PRP solution across the microchannels, giving your skin extra support to regrow stronger and tighter. You lose years off your face with this treatment and there are other benefits, including:
- Skin that’s smoother and firmer than before
- Less visible sun damage/photoaging
- Diminished appearance of lines and wrinkles
- Improvement of scars or texture issues
- Reduced pigmentation issues
You won’t just experience these great results after the treatment; they keep on coming. When your body experiences an increase in collagen production, it triggers itself to keep on producing it. This means you get to enjoy your results much longer.
Are there more ways to boost my facial results?
There’s no need to stop at microneedling with PRP. Dr. Buttar can help you boost your results with additional aesthetic treatments, giving you an even greater rejuvenation.
Dr. Buttar works with you to create a personalized aesthetic treatment plan and may suggest including Botox® injections to complement your microneedling and PRP results.
